A Call for Solidarity: Supporting Valencia’s Recovery Efforts

In recent days, the region of Valencia has been devastated by an intense DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels), resulting in severe flooding, property damage, and widespread disruption. At Puckator, we wanted to address this sooner, but one of our offices is in Valencia, and we have been trying to get through the shock of the situation. Thankfully, all our staff are safe, and no one has suffered any personal harm. Our Valencia office was spared significant damage, although one of our team members, who lives in one of the hardest-hit areas, has unfortunately experienced considerable material losses.

As a company, we are committed to supporting our colleagues through this challenging time, helping wherever possible to ease the recovery. To further this effort, we have set up a GoFundMe page, allowing anyone who wishes to contribute to help our team member and her family rebuild and move forward. Your support in any form, big or small, is deeply appreciated and will go directly to aiding them in their recovery from this difficult ordeal.

We would also like to highlight that the people of Valencia have shown immense resilience and compassion, rallying together to help those affected. Across Spain, various collection points have been established for essential supplies like food, water, cleaning products, footwear, and other necessities. Donations can also be made to different NGOs such as the Red Cross, Oxfam Intermón or Save the Children among many others.

For those able to help directly, the website AyudaTerreta.com serves as a platform where affected residents can list their specific needs, enabling those willing to lend a hand to do so effectively.

Additionally, we must not forget our furry friends, who have also suffered the consequences of this disaster. Throughout the region, different aid initiatives have been organised to help affected animals, such as Sporting de Benimaclet, which is actively working to rescue animals in distress and ensure they receive veterinary care if needed. Please, let’s not forget them in our efforts.

As we all navigate this challenging period, we urge everyone to stay informed through official channels, avoiding misleading information circulating and replying only on information provided by trustworthy sources and official news outlets.

To all our friends and neighbours in Valencia and beyond, we stand with you. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these events, and we send a message of strength and solidarity as the community begins to recover. Let’s continue to support one another and work towards a swift and positive recovery for all.
